Wow. These are phenomenal. The bird looks prehistoric, which I guess in a way it is. I have to mimic PA and Hiker: strange, beautiful, superb.

I had to take a wide berth around this bird to get the sun at my back and it didn't move a muscle while I was moving. However, when I got closer to get the first shot she/he took off and this is what I was able to capture. Blue herons are very common around here and I love to watch them, I think they're very zen.

Zen! Yes! I swear I've called them monks (to myself). Great shots. The first three look like painting or graphic art. (I just said that to someone else, too. Ken Mac, it was). It's an arresting effect.
