Slide Show: Hotel Le Cirque At Lee Circle, New Orleans
This would be better had I used a tripod but it was done on-the-fly one night while DH gassed up his work vehicle. The hotel's website shows a completely different light show so I imagine there's a rotating program; in this one some of the color changes are subtle but change they do. The first set of images was made from the upper level of the Robert E Lee Memorial and the second set was made more even with street level, back towards the nearby Exxon gas station. You can orient yourself here at this new map website I found. The backdrop for this shoot was both white and black homeless men spending the night on the upper steps of the memorial while General Lee gazed out at the night sky.

This is a very cool hotel, a slide show is the perfect way to display it. How did you get it to cycle without ending with the ugly green arrow.
I owe you a debt of gratitude for this, I saw yours (I had been looking for one) and borrowed your idea so thanks. It does end with the ugly green arrow, eventually, worse still it takes you to Picasa if you click it. I guess you just have to refresh the page.
Super banner! And the photo, wow. I almost thought it was the Cirque du Soleil.....that's coming here in November!
Love the changing colors. Reminds me of Las Vegas where the buildings are the street entertainment.
Flashy photo! Vegas in New Orleans? Oops, Bayside beat me to it.
Thanks for the map tip. I hadn't heard about it, and I bet I'll use it.
B, I've seen CDS and was completely taken in by them. I'm sure you'll find it magical.
BL, I've never been to Sin City but hope to just so I can experience the decadence for myself.
B52, it was pretty subdued but added some penache. That area is a mixture of renewal and decay. The condition of theLee Memorial is a disgrace, really.
Cool!
