Friday 180° #1: Harvest Moon

I have my own little meme for Sundays and now I've decided to try my hand at a new one that I've been thinking about for a while now, something I call "Friday 180°": two opposing photographs straight across, catty-corner, close together or far apart. These were done a couple of days ago around 6:00 PM.

To the east, at the Pensacola Visitor Information Center, the harvest moon over East Bay.

To the west, traffic had slowed down on the Pensacola Bay Bridge and I saw this sunset over Pensacola Bay.

Me in the middle with my camera.
So, do you have a take on a 180°??

Give me a coupla hours to think it through. I am about to embark upon a cross-city train ride which should provide grist for the mill. I do like both your images. The intensity of the line of sunset is just great, but for mine I like the silvery moon and its moodiness.

Good idea for a meme ...

Light shines brighter when it is dark.
Moon - The favourite.

I've never thought of doing that. I think I'll try it, because if I could do it half as well as you did it, I'd be very happy.

Why can't I get this kind of shot over the Mississippi?

Bob needs to shag it on down south don't you think P?? He's always flitting off all over the world. He needs some good ole Gulf coast action. A little boiled shrimp, some red snapper.......and a few cold ones. Oh yeah!

Now about your photos. I like them both but the bottom one rocks my boat.

the lower shot is brilliant - superb capture, wonderful colours and you seen to have caught a straight perfect line in the photos

both views are great--I'd say it's a win/win.

Wow, Paula! These are amazing! I've never been in the middle of a sunset and a silvery moon, ever. Wonderful!

Right place at the right time.

I cast my ballot for the one on top.

I probably do, since I'm kind of a symmetrical person. These two are great; especially the top one!

I'm still digesting the concept, but I think I get it. Nice photos, especially the moon over East Bay.

Julie, take all the time you want, I'm sure it will be fascinating.

Ken, Hobo, Jacob, there are a lot of ways to do it, what I would love to do is find a way to stand in the middle of a busy intersection and shoot all four corners. I guess I'll have to do it early or late, or maybe on a Sunday.

Bob, you need crummier lenses to do this kind of work, and lots less sophisticated photo editing.

V, one day there will be a Bloggers Beach Blowout out on Orange Beach. I'm thinking springtime.

Magic, Kiwi, and Kaye, thank you, and it's good to hear from you along with everyone else after my long break.

Hilda, like d moll said, being on the bridge at the right time made all the difference.

AH and Bibi, it's may favorite of the two, I took the sunset photo first but led with my fave.

Bayside, I know you can come up with something, I eagerly await the results.
